St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco Honors Those It Serves at Brennan Award Dinner

On October 3rd the St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco hosted the 31st Annual Brennan Award Dinner at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco. For the past 30 years, the Brennan Award has highlighted the work of individuals whose personal actions have had an extraordinary impact on those in need in our City.

This year the organization flipped the script by honoring the people it serves: the unhoused and survivors of domestic violence. This year’s gala, “We See the Unseen,” recognized the organization’s clients with the Brennan Award, and highlighted the critical support services the Society provides to them. The evening’s event program included an introduction from Board President Joseph Stark, a welcome from CEO Patrick Schmalz, and an invocation given by the Rev. Paul J. Fitzgerald, S.J. The USF Jazz Band provided entertainment during the reception, and an award video featuring the honorees was shown.

Proceeds from the Brennan Award provide crucial support for the St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco’s programs, and further their mission to offer hope and service on a direct, person-to-person basis, working to break the cycles of homelessness and domestic violence.
