Salesforce Raises $8.4 Million at Dreamfest Benefit Concert for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals

Dreamfest is an evening concert that raises money for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals. Some say that Dreamfest is a night of inspiration and rock ‘n’ roll that combines star power, heartwarming moments, and electrifying music. Here are some more reviews of Dreamfest:

On September 18, Salesforce presented Dreamfest, the annual benefit concert for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals held in conjunction with its annual Dreamforce conference. The splashy event, held at Oracle Park in San Francisco, featured headliners P!NK and Imagine Dragons, who helped raise $8.4 million for the hospitals. Since the concert’s 2010 founding, the event has raised more than $120 million to advance children’s health.

The evening began with a cocktail reception and performance by Kygo and Imagine Dragons. Then actor Matthew McConaughey and Dr. Nicholas Holmes, president of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, awarded the 2024 Colin Powell Medal of Courage to 12-year-old Elena Sweet, a UCSF patient who has triumphed over adversity in her battle with Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

Following the ceremony, a spectacular drone show lit up the sky before high-flying musician P!NK performed for a cheering crowd of 24,000 concertgoers. Notable event guests included Marc and Lynne Benioff, Susan and Bill Obendorf, Connie and Kevin Shanahan, Parker Harris, UCSF Vice Chancellor Erin Hickey and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals President Dr. Nicholas Holmes. UCSF Assistant Vice Chancellor for Children’s Health Jasmine Payne, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals Board Chair Shahan Soghikian, UCSF Board Chair Philip Hammarskjold, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals Board Member Samir Kaul. Immediately following P!NK’s performance, guests enjoyed an after party where live musicians and DJs performed throughout the night.

UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are among the nation’s leading pediatric specialty hospitals. The two campuses in San Francisco and Oakland are known worldwide for basic and clinical research and are at the forefront of translating research into interventions for treating and preventing pediatric disease. Because insurance only covers a fraction of the cost for medical expenses, the hospital depends on philanthropic support to help transform children’s lives.
