Solaire Terrasse with Veuve Clicquot at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco

The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot, welcomed guests to the opening of the third annual Solaire Terrasse. This exclusive event celebrated the return of the summer offering, running from June 1 to October 27 on the property’s terrace courtyard overlooking the city’s iconic skyline. Attendees enjoyed a preview of the culinary and beverage delights available, including the Veuve Clicquot Champagne selection, featuring Brut Yellow Label, Brut Rosé, Rich, and La Grande Dame by the glass or bottle, alongside an exquisite seafood tower and The Ritz-Carlton’s signature caviar service. New this year, the Veuve Clicquot-inspired, zero-proof La Grande Dame sorbet by Gelato Festival made its debut, emulating the experience of the iconic champagne. Guests sampled it as well as other gelatos and sorbets.

Additionally, on the last Sunday of every month from June through October 2024, Madame Clicquot Afternoon Tea is available in the terrace courtyard. This unique offering combines the renowned, sophisticated touchpoints of The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco’s traditional afternoon tea with the effervescence of Veuve Clicquot Champagne over classic sandwiches, homemade sweets, and premium tea.

The event was hosted by Nicholas McDermott, the new General Manager of Ritz-Carlton San Francisco. McDermott joins The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco from The St. Regis Houston where he served as general manager for the past four years. With a distinguished culinary background, McDermott began his career at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise Hotel in Canada before assuming leadership roles at award-winning establishments such as The Westin Calgary and The Westin Boston Waterfront. His expertise led him to positions such as director of food and beverage at the iconic Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit and as director of operations at The Westin Houston Memorial City in Houston, where the hotel proudly hosted Super Bowl LI and earned the NFL Travel Hotel of the Year award in 2016.

Under McDermott’s new leadership, the collaboration of The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco and Veuve Clicquot will further enhance the Solaire Terrasse dining experience for all to enjoy.
