The Headlands Center for the Arts hosted over 200 art lovers and patrons at their Marin Headlands campus for their annual art auction and benefit on June 6. Guests were welcomed into a space transformed by the addition of numerous contemporary art installations, including works by Samuel Wildman, Joshua Moreno, Ebti and Whitney Vangrin.
Festivities were led by Headlands Executive Director Maricelle Robles, Board Chair Doree Friedman, and Auction Committee Co-Chairs Lizelle Green and Jessica Silverman. On auction that evening were 19 artworks by national and international artists, including Tomashi Jackson, Rae Klein, Ken Gun Min, Masako Miki, Gala Porras-Kim, Clare Rojas, Jesse Schlesinger, Rupy C. Tut and Catherine Wagner.
Paddles were also raised for a chance at four unique experiential packages. These one-of-a-kind creative experiences structured around art, food, and Headlands’ beautiful campus, included a culinary soiree with the Slanted Door’s Chef Charles Phan, and a private tour and lunch at the home of influential Bay Area artist and sculptor JB Blunk.
Among the notable guests on hand that night were artist and Headlands Board member Kota Ezawa, Emma Fisher, Tad Freese and Brook Hartzell, and Pamela and David Hornik. This year’s auction raised over $750,000, which will go to support the organization’s residency, fellowship and public programs.
