San Francisco Ballet School welcomed guests to the annual Spring Festival Fundraising Dinner on Wednesday, May 22, following a delightful gala-style student performance that showcased rising talent at the Blue Shield of California Theater at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
The dinner and cocktail reception took place at the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, celebrating the achievements of SF Ballet School’s new School Director Grace Holmes, herself an SF Ballet School alumna and former Soloist in the SF Ballet company. The dinner was chaired by SF Ballet Auxiliary member Maureen Knoll, and attendees included SF Ballet Artistic Director Tamara Rojo, Chair of the Board of Trustees Alison Mauzé, former Co-Chairs Sunnie Evers and Bob Shaw, Chair of Education & Training Brenda Leff, and many of SF Ballet’s current company members, several of whom received their own professional training at SF Ballet School. Proceeds from this year’s event, currently totaling at over $650,000, support the $1.5 million in scholarships and financial aid the School distributes annually to students, as well as SF Ballet’s education and community engagement programs that serve over 58,000 children, families, lifelong learners, and community members throughout San Francisco each year.
