The San Francisco Zoo’s 2024 Zoofest Celebration

400 people gathered under the stars to celebrate the two-year term of Chairman Emeritus Edward Poole and his commitment to animal wellness at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens on May 4th.

Cocktails were served in the Zoo’s historic Lion House, and McCalls catered a fabulous dinner and penguin-inspired dessert in a clear tent near the Zoo’s outdoor penguin habitat.

Chairman Poole received a number of surprises and honors, including a Proclamation personally presented by SF Mayor London, a lifetime achievement award, and a surprise visit from his son on military leave. ​ Nearly $800,000 was raised was raised for the Zoo’s ongoing animal care and veterinary hospital.
