It’s a wrap on this year’s San Francisco Greek Film Festival (SFGFF) with attendees and festival prizewinners gathering for one last hurrah at San Francisco’s Delancey Street Screening Room on March 22. This year’s Festival screened a total of 30 new and innovative films by Greek and Cypriot filmmakers from around the world.
The closing night festivities included a film program beginning with a screening of short film Abel, followed by an in-person Q&A with director Kostantinos Karamaghiolis. The second screening, feature film Wishbone, also got the Q&A treatment with Penny Panayotopoulou and co-writer Kallia Papadaki. After the screenings, the crowd of film buffs followed along to the adjacent hall for a closing night party and the announcement of this year’s jury and audience awards. With its annual screenings of innovative acclaimed films by Greek and Cypriot makers, the SFGFF seeks to inspire, engage and entertain its diverse audience in the Bay Area and beyond.
