For the third consecutive year, the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation welcomed artists and its supporters to the Ferry Building to witness the unveiling of the 2025 “Hearts in San Francisco” display. On January 13, friends of the Foundation and art lovers of all stripes turned out for the special event, held in the Ferry Building’s Port Room. The 22 decorative hearts on display will be auctioned off in February, to benefit the Foundation’s patient care and innovation at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
Also on hand for the event were some of the artists who donated their time and talent to create the beautiful art pieces. This year, the Foundation showcased the work of several young artists, including Jessica Rosenfeld’s art class at César Chávez Elementary School in San Francisco’s Mission District. Guests and artists mingled while enjoying noshes from Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant. The hearts–which range in height from a towering five feet to a diminutive seven inches–are colorfully decorated to reflect artist-chosen themes like Latin Dance, friendship and of course, San Francisco itself. The 2025 “Hearts in San Francisco” sculptures will be on display, scattered throughout the Ferry Building Marketplace, through February 3.
