December 3 marked the official return of one of San Francisco’s most beloved dining establishments, North Beach Restaurant, purveyors of Tuscan favorites since 1970. The historic spot is now under new ownership, with Francesco and Monica Covucci at the helm for the eatery’s new era. The Covuccis, the renowned restaurateurs behind Il Casaro, Casaro Osteria, Barbara, and California Fish Market, marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting and a festive evening that welcomed back loyal diners and local celebs.
Philanthropist Willie Brown, Mayor-elect Daniel Lurie and Supervisor Aaron Peskin were some of the VIPs on hand for the ribbon cutting, followed by a celebration of Tuscan cuisine and Italian hospitality set in the historic dining space. Guests were delighted to see cherished favorites return to the menu, including the Pasta Della Casa, Spicy Vodka Penne and the signature Florentina Steak. The Covuccis, with their passion for Italian cuisine and commitment to excellence, are excited to welcome a new generation of diners to this San Francisco landmark.
