27th Annual Catholic Charities Loaves & Fishes Gala

Catholic Charities San Francisco (CCSF) celebrated its 27th Annual Loaves and Fishes Award Dinner and Gala on October 17th at the Westin St. Francis. The fabulous event was in support of Catholic Charities programs and services, including Aging Support services, Homelessness and Housing services, Immigration services and Youth and Child Development services.

This year more than 350 guests filled the Westin’s main ballroom to raise funds for CCSF’s 35 programs serving over 100,000 people each year. Catholic Charities Chief Philanthropy Officer, Tom Bowen, welcomed the evening’s guests. He was later joined on-stage by Archbishop of San Francisco, Salvatore Cordileone, Catholic Charities CEO Ellen Hammerle, Ph.D. and CCSF Board President Kathy Grogan.

The fundraiser’s success was celebrated by ending the evening with a beautiful rendition of Ave Maria led by opera singer Greg Billion. Guests held candles during the song in honor of the candlelit procession that takes place each evening in Lourdes, France.
