Family House of San Francisco Hosts 28th Annual Cabernet for Connoisseurs

Family House San Francisco held its 28th Annual Cabernet for Connoisseurs at Silverado Resort & Spa in Napa on October 19. Cabernet for Connoisseurs, or “Cabs,” honored Adriel Lares and Yvette Tom for their dedicated support of the organization. Over 200 guests attended that night, helping raise over $750,000 to support the organization’s work.

Founded in 1981, Family House San Francisco has served as a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, who are being treated at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Located in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood, Family House San Francisco is the five-story, 80-bedroom facility that sustains a nearly 100% occupancy rate, houses up to 330 people per night, and serves 4,000 individuals per year.

This year’s Cabs featured a concert by award-winning singer and songwriter Matt Nathanson and over two dozen wineries, a special dinner and a curated live auction. The event also honored Adriel Lares and Yvette Tom for their dedicated support of Family House San Francisco over the years. Since 2013, the husband and wife duo, along with their three kids, have been pillars in the Family House San Francisco community.
