It was a star-studded party the lucky guests won’t soon forget, as Glenn Close welcomed supporters–and some of her best celebrity friends–to a fundraiser for her mental health nonprofit Bring Change to Mind (BC2M). This year the annual Revels & Revelations Benefit was held on World Mental Health Day, October 10. The event raised over $1 million to support teen mental health, and featured lively entertainment, heartfelt conversations and more than a few inspirational moments.
In addition to a performance from actor and comedian Billy Eichner, a highlight of the evening was the presentation of special awards to two celebrity champions of mental health, Amy Poehler and Wayne Brady. Poehler, an actress, writer, director and best-selling author, received the Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter Award for her advocacy work. The multi-talented Brady, a BC2M Ambassador, was honored with the Champion of Change Award for his remarkable advocacy and support of BC2M high school students. VIPs in the audience that night included
Grammy-nominated musician Josh Groban, actor and BC2M Ambassador Chase Stokes, performer Erich Bergen, BC2M Board Chair Zak Williams and actor and producer Zelda Williams.
Premier Sponsor Gilead Foundation is joined by support from Wheels Up and The St. Regis. American Eagle was also on hand to announce the launch of the AE Foundation and present BC2M with its $100,000 Signature Grant.
Bring Change to Mind is a national organization dedicated to ending the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness. Co-founded by Glenn Close in 2010, BC2M creates multimedia campaigns, storytelling movements and youth-focused programs to encourage and foster a diverse cultural conversation around mental health.
