At Whiskey + Wellness Event Local Designers Let Their Hair Down

On September 19th, design firm Mead Quin Inc hosted Whiskey+Wellness, an annual gathering that offers a unique blend of business and leisure. Created to foster neighborhood connections, explore professional partnerships and drive new opportunities in a convivial setting, the event has grown in each of its three years, evolving into a premier party for the regional design community.

Whiskey+Wellness puts a lively spin on the traditional networking gathering, focusing on two things close to the heart of Mead Quin studio’s founder: wellness and the joy of gathering around food and drink. Each year, the event brings together leaders in design, architecture and construction, alongside trusted vendors, to strengthen professional networks, forge new connections, celebrate community and support regional makers–all while highlighting the synergy between high-end design and well-being.

This year’s party was held at Hammerling Wines in Berkeley, California. The highlight of the beautifully-designed event was a custom bar created by the Mead Quin studio using De Sousa Hughes fabrics, and constructed by Joinery Structures. The evening was filled with a fun mix of activities, including a series of wellness stations, a curated whiskey tasting, an open bar, food trucks and a DJ spinning lively music. Notable attendees from the Bay Area design and construction community included architects Bob Swatt, Brett Moyer, and Suzette Smith, builders Aaron Gordon, Tim McDonald, and George Giannos, and realtor Pete Rodway, among many others. Cheers to the seeds of friendship–and design innovation–that were planted that night.
