The League to Save Lake Tahoe teamed up with Saks Fifth Avenue to host their annual benefit fashion show featuring an exclusive first look at the Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2025 collection, designed by Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.
Each year the fashion set gathers on the Tahoe shores to support the League’s mission–and of course, do a little shopping while they’re there. The afternoon event on August 3 included a full-scale runway fashion show and elegant luncheon held at the Schumacher family home on Lake Tahoe’s iconic shoreline. Attendees were also invited to shop the Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2025 collection, at a pop-up organized by event sponsor Saks Fifth Avenue.
The annual fashion show and luncheon tradition dates back to 1969, when models walked barefoot down a plywood runway, showcasing designer Bill Blass’s collection for 100 guests seated on picnic benches on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe. In 1999, Bill Blass handed the baton to the legendary Oscar de la Renta. Now in its 55th year, the fashion show has evolved into a popular fundraiser and highlight of the summer season.
This year, the event raised a record-breaking $1.4 million for conservation efforts. The League to Save Lake Tahoe, a donor-funded organization of environmental experts and Tahoe-lovers, has a 67-year mission to protect the health and beauty of the Lake Tahoe Basin, so it can be enjoyed today and for generations to come.
