Audience Thrills to Mozart Opera at Festival Napa Valley

World-class talent converged on Wine Country on July 20 for an unforgettable performance of Mozart’s comic opera Abduction from the Seraglio. Guests experienced the thrilling onstage chemistry between soprano Brenda Rae and tenor Michele Angelini. The two celebrated stars — Rae received the Metropolitan Opera’s 2021 Beverly Sills Artist Award and Angelini was nominated Best Young Male Singer of the Year at the 2016 International Opera Awards — were joined by bass David Soar, Volti Chorale and five members of BODYTRAFFIC. Carlo Montanaro led Festival Orchestra Napa in this lighthearted tale of forbidden love.

Audience members enjoyed picnic dinners in the Festival’s Culinary Garden at Charles Krug, while the Mondavi Family invited Festival VIPs in attendance to their private gardens for a special Patron Dinner. The Mondavi family has preserved the estate’s legacy while also deepening its commitment to innovation and uncompromising quality. Their dedication is reflected in the wines, which serve as artistic expressions of classic Napa Valley terroir. Festival patrons were treated to a sumptuous meal complemented by exquisite vintages carefully selected from the portfolio of Charles Krug estate wines. The evening was a celebration of exceptional wine and cuisine, and the enduring legacy of this winery and its stewards’ contributions to Napa Valley.
