Molteni&C Welcomes SF to Opening of Flagship Store in Design District

On June 13, Design District denizens got their first look at the new showroom by Molteni&C Flagship Store, operated by Luminaire, a pioneering force in the design world since 1974. 

The new store is an ode to contemporary Italian design, featuring works by great designers including Vincent Van Duysen, Jean Nouvel, Foster + Partners, Ron Gilad, Yabu Pushelberg and Herzog & de Meuron. In keeping with Molteni&C’s ethos, the space combines a welcoming hominess with an ever-evolving, modern aesthetic. 

Starting at the main entrance, guests will discover a naturistic living area featuring an iconic Palinfrasca sofa, alongside Vincent Van Duysen’s Regent coffee tables, with a Boulogne basket rounding out the space. Further exploration reveals a Tivalì 2.0 kitchen, an Old Ford table by Rodolfo Dordoni paired with Janet chairs, a Hector modular bookcase by Vincent Van Duysen and an Archway sideboard by Rodolfo Dordoni.

The result of almost 300 square meters of exquisitely crafted Italian products is a high impact setting that showcases the Molteni&C collection, with the aim of creating a warm, welcoming, experiential layout to inspire the culture of la dolce vita. 

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s expanding Design District, Molteni&C Flagship Store, operated by Luminaire is surrounded by other premier showrooms, as well as the residential and tech spaces that have recently begun to liven up this newly vibrant South of Market neighborhood.
