Soy Vey: Shumai and Shalom

On Friday, May 17, 2024 Value Culture and partner JCCSF, hosted “Soy Vey: Shumai and Shalom,” a special dinner celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Jewish Heritage months, both happening in May.

The Sold Out dinner took place at the Yank Sing restaurant in the San Francisco Rincon Center from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. and along with the JCCSF, supported by the APA Heritage Foundation and the Chinese Historical Society of America. Yank Sing presented a feast of dim sum and Chinese American classics with desserts provided by B Patisserie, Loquat, the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Company, Grand Bakery Oakland and Sari Swig.

The goal of this exchange is to bring communities together, particularly at a time when geopolitical developments have created strife and divisiveness as well to support small San Francisco businesses. The event was hosted by Adam Swig, Award Winning Executive Director of Value Culture and Lydia So distinguished architect and San Francisco Planning Commissioner.

Following the event there was a festive After Party and Fashion Show from 9pm-2am in Chinatown at Chi Lounge in the Imperial Palace. The event was hosted by San Francisco natives Adam Swig, Cece Chan, and Max Leung, featuring a fashion show with designs by Sunyung An and Mirjana Berbatovic, music from Dave Fontenot of Pink Roses, Max Christiansen, and DJ Beatific.
