April 19 was a starry night, as global research program Part the Cloud welcomed celebrities like actress and Suits star Sarah Rafferty, Grammy Award-winning pianist and composer Jon Batiste and retired US soccer player Brandi Chastain to benefit Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
A sold out crowd of over 300 guests gathered in Woodside for cocktails, dinner and a live performance of jazz standards from Batiste. Other luminaries who turned out for the event included Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, Netflix Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Reed Hastings, local football legend Joe Montana and Part the Cloud founder Michaela “Mikey” Hoag.
Since 2012, Part the Cloud in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association is a worldwide movement to accelerate scientific research. To date, they have raised $82 million towards 68 groundbreaking clinical trials. Said Hoag, “My parents succumbed to Alzheimer’s, and I wanted to do my part to change the trajectory of the disease. Today, Part the Cloud is more than a fundraiser, it’s an opportunity to educate, inspire and provide hope to the millions of lives impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.”
