Representation Project’s 2023 Gala

The Representation Project’s 2023 Flip the Script benefit and auction, took place on Thursday, November 9 at The Conservatory at One Sansome. Founder and filmmaker Jennifer Siebel Newsom shared a sneak peak of her upcoming film, Miss Representation: The Revolution, a follow-up to her wildly popular film Miss Representation (2011). The event celebrated Siebel Newsom’s exceptional contributions as a champion of gender equality and featured a thought-provoking conversation with three young advocates for change.
Attendees were treated to a captivating solo and Pas De Deux performance by Alonzo King LINES Ballet. This year’s event was made possible by the generous support of AT&T and was co-chaired by Bahya Oumlil-Murad and Ken McNeely. The host committee included Camilla Norman Field, Hala Hijazi, David ibnAle, Tembi Locke, Elaine Mellis, Hilary Newsom, Joanna Rees, Mollie Ricker, Lily Riesenfeld, Brenda Robinson, Regina K. Scully, Amy Soper, Heather McPhail Sridharan, and Roselyne Chroman Swig.
The honorary committee featured London N. Breed, Dolores Huerta, Alonzo King, Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, The Honorable Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Representative Katie Porter, and Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Hilda Solis. The evening was a powerful celebration and a collective commitment to advancing gender equality.
