Gordon Getty Celebrates His 90th Birthday

Composer and arts patron Gordon Getty, who turned 90 on December 20, celebrated on the Saturday prior and enjoyed a lively salute by family and friends including Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Paul Pelosi, and California Governor Gavin Newsom.

For the occasion, Gordon’s family traveled from Europe, the United Kingdom, and from across the US. Among the guests were family members Aileen Getty, Mark Getty, Baltazar Getty with his spouse designer Rosetta Getty, and many more. As the night progressed, Ivy Getty, Gordon’s granddaughter who shares the same birthday (her 29th) was also celebrated. Décor was provided by Stanlee Gatti, who offered a nod to Ora Beth Mika’s spectacular Tree of Life birthday cake. Lori Podraza, Gordon’s chef extraordinaire, provided the catering. The heartfelt evening was the centerpiece of a weekend-long tribute to the family’s patriarch, last remaining son of J.P. Getty.
