On March 31, ODC/Dance celebrated their 52nd anniversary with more than 325 art lovers at their sold-out 2023 Dance Downtown Gala at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
From the artistry of the ODC/Dance to the choreographers to the hundreds of glamorous guests lighting up the after-party dance floor, it was magical to be surrounded by the joy and community that are at the heart of ODC’s mission to foster inclusivity and diversity through dance.
The event raised more than $410,000 to support ODC’s groundbreaking professional dance company and the expansion of its
campus to house the extensive programming and resources that serve the entire community. The evening featured an exhilarating performance by ODC/Dance, which included the world premiere of Collision, Collapse and a Coda by ODC’s founder and artistic director, Brenda Way; Impulse by guest choreographer Dexandro Montalvo; and Triangulating Euclid, a 3-way choreographic collaboration between Way, KT Nelson, and Kate Weare. The gala’s chairs, Tim Schroeder and Jackie Schneider, and the gala’s committee, Navid Armstrong, Anna Boyer, and Rachel Goldberg, did an amazing job. Table hosts included Eleanor Coppola and corporate sponsors Goldman Sachs and J. P. Morgan.
