Glittering gowns and gents in black tie tuxedos set the tone at the Palace Hotel on the occasion of Dress For Success San Francisco’s 18th anniversary fundraiser, Casino Royale Gala. Chaired by Sharon Seto, the themed event raised over $400,000 toward continuing efforts aimed at empowering women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to thrive at work and in life.
Nearly 400 guests were present to recognize Teresa Rodriguez, editor- in-chief at Haute Living, San Francisco and a best-selling author, as the 2023 Success Honoree. “I grew up surrounded by the warmth of my nine Mexican aunts who showed me unconditional love and taught me the true meaning of generosity. There was always a plate of food for anyone who walked into their homes, along with a hug and a warm smile. Each of my aunts instilled in me the importance of giving back and sharing what little I might have.” Also in the spotlight were Volunteer of the Year Sandy Lynch and Client Success Ambassador Allyson Bufano, who eloquently shared heartwarming personal stories.
Both a live auction and a silent auction took place prior to a lively casino after-party with dancing. Among the gala’s notable attendees were Carolyn Wente, Dress For Success board chair, past honoree, and CEO of Wente Vineyards; Kellie Abreu, honorary co-chair of the event; Rodney Fong, CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce; Yuan Yuan Tan, principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet; and Aly Wente, VP Marketing & Customer Experience of Wente Vineyards.
