SFMOMA’s marvelous, museum-wide party and fundraiser on April 19 featured spectacular creations and performances by trailblazing artists, with immersive art installations, music and dancing from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. A total of 2,000 guests attended SFMOMA’s 2023 Art Bash, including a wide array of artists, performers, and community members, as well as leaders in the fashion, business, finance, tech and philanthropy sectors. The museum welcomed 340 dinner guests, 100 pre-party guests, and more than 2,000 additional partygoers from 8 p.m. onward. Highlights of the night included Marilyn Minter’s artwork My Cuntry ‘Tis of Thee in wallpapers and video, Woody De Othello’s Jazz Lounge, Sadie Barnette’s installation The New Eagle Creek Saloon, a performance by pop-R&B singer Amber Mark, and a DJ set by Toro y Moi. The evening also featured memorable, fashion-forward looks worn by guests dressed by the evening’s fashion sponsor Valentino. Art Bash raised $2.3 million in support of SFMOMA’s much-loved education and family programs and community engagement events that benefit over 150,000 people every year.
