Maison Danel, a French Pâtisserie, Viennoiserie, and Salon de Thé, founded by husbands Danel and David de Betelu, who want to bring the charm of the European Tea Salon experience to San Francisco, is offering a traditional French Galette des Rois (King Cake) between now and the end of January.
Galette des Rois is a traditional French puff pastry cake filled with almond frangipane cream eaten at Epiphany to celebrate the arrival of the Three Kings. Like in France, the Maison Danel Galette des Rois comes with a gold paper crown and a fève, a mini figurine for you to hide inside the cake. The person who gets the fève gets to be king (or queen) for the day! $40 each – 9″ and serves 6 to 8 people. Available until the end of January. Order two days in advance for Pickup or Delivery. Also available in the boutique for Takeout, so check directly with the store if you need one sooner. Bonne Éphipanie et bon appétit!
